The Zeus team has been busy running a successful media campaign to support its client, leading law firm SAS Daniels, with its sponsorship of a highly anticipated, retrospective exhibition with the widely revered Northern artist Helen Clapcott.

Hosted by Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery and staged with support and funding from Stockport Council, ‘A Portrait of Stockport’ features over 100 of Helen’s works including flagship pieces The Power Station, The Last Carnival and Brinksway 1979, Before The Motorway.

After working with the firm as the retained PR agency for over 18 months, Zeus was tasked with an additional project to generate wide-reaching visibility and exposure for the exhibition, which SAS Daniels is proud to be the main sponsor of. By way of a series of PR tactics the agency set out to build awareness and interest in the exhibition, working collaboratively throughout the project with SAS Daniels, Stockport Council and Lund Humphries, publishers of the first major monograph on Helen.

The agency secured extensive coverage for the launch through an effective PR campaign ahead of the exhibition’s opening, targeting national, regional, and local press, and broadcast. Spreading the word and piquing the interest of the North West and beyond, articles were featured on the BBC, Manchester Evening News, Stockport Express, Manchester World, Manchester Magazine, and Stockport Nub News – just to name a few. Broadcast interviews with Helen Clapcott herself were also placed by Zeus PR with BBC Radio Manchester and popular local station, Strawberry Radio.

The Zeus PR team was also excited to support SAS Daniels at its private viewing held to celebrate the exhibition launch, which was a fabulous evening of conversations and canapes, attended by special guests including the Mayor of Stockport Councillor Suzanne Wyatt and her consort Mayoress Melanie Braviner.

As the final phase of the project, the agency undertook another media outreach campaign following the private view event, reporting on its success and leveraging another opportunity to profile the exhibition in the media.

For those interested in visiting the exhibition, ‘A Portrait of Stockport’ is open now and runs until the 25th of January. If you are interested in talking to us about how we can support you with a prolific PR campaign, please get in touch.
